Best Foot Forward for Good Health

Every week over 500 people put on their walking shoes and join a Troedio Clwyd Health Walk, improving their health and fitness. Regular walking has been proven to have so many benefits, increasing energy, reducing stress, helping weight loss, reducing the risk heart disease and some forms of cancer to name a few.

Over the past 10 years the Lets Walk Denbighshire has been helping people to walk their way to health and the scheme would like to expand to new areas – the search for new walk leaders is on, particularly in the Corwen and Llangollen areas.

If you are enthusiastic, friendly and enjoy walking then perhaps you could volunteer to lead walks.  Full training will be given to anyone who can dedicate time to take people out walking on routes that last about an hour.

‘These walks are a great chance to enjoy fresh air, meet new people and relax in good company’ said Katrina Day, Walking Development Officer.

‘Llangollen has some lovely countryside, this walking initiative provides an enjoyable opportunity to discover some of these areas and have fun at the same time as keeping healthy’. Said Kenneth Skates, Clwyd South Assembly Member for the Dee Valley.

If you are interested in becoming a leader or interested in joining the walking programme then please contact Katrina Day on 01745 356197 or Helen Mrowiec on 01352810614
