Monmouthshire students are celebrating their best ever GCSE results: 5.7% had A* grades: 98.7% of students achieved an A* to G grade and 65.5% got an A* to C grade.
GCSE results from the WJEC show continual improvement.
The number of students achieving the high pass rate of A* and A* to C grades show a high success rate. The percentage of students achieving A* – C grades increased by 2.7% from 2009 results and the overall pass rate A* to G has increased by 1.0%. In addition, the performance of students at A* has increased by 0.8%

“I am delighted with this further improvement in performance and would like to thank all those involved in achieving it, particularly teachers, parents and especially the young people who sat their GCSE’s this summer. I am very pleased that this will mean that so many more students will have a wider choice of post-16 options.”
