The results of Blaenau Gwent Council’s Environmental Awards 2010 have been announced – with schools, community groups, businesses and individuals all among the winners.
BBC Wales TV presenter Sara Edwards was special guest at this year’s awards. She said: “I’m delighted to see all the things that are being done to make a difference and give us all hope for the future – particularly the involvement of children and young people.
A total of 90 entries were received this year and video clips of all the nominees in action were shown to the audience at Abertillery Sports Centre.
Councillor Des Hillman, Leader of Blaenau Gwent Council, says: “It makes me very proud to watch our ‘green’ heroes in action – I would like to thank each and every one of you for your hard work all year round.”
