Pupils in Blaenau Gwent schools are tackling noise pollution by designing warning posters.
Blaenau Gwent Council’s Environmental Health team organised the poster competition and came up with prizes of gift vouchers.
The winners were Sherrie Evans and Courtney Louise Halford, both 11, of Queen Street Primary, Abertillery, and Mia Thomas, of Beaufort Hill Primary in Ebbw Vale.
The competition was a key event in Blaenau Gwent’s Noise Action Week 2010 which aims to promote practical solutions to everyday noise problems.
All local schools used special action packs on noise pollution.
