Put the kettle on – and raise much needed funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care in Wales.
Organisers are hoping to raise £1 million with Summer tea parties being held across the UK from June 12 to July 12.
An appeal has gone out throughout Wales for tea party organisers to join the Blooming Great Tea Party which raises thousands of pounds in the county/region each year.
Everyone from nurses to neighbours, gardeners to golfers and mums groups to managing directors can get involved by simply organising a tea party among friends, neighbours and work colleagues.
“Hold your party at home, work, school or with your local club. It’s really up to you. It can be as simple as having a few friends round for tea and cakes at home to something much bigger – whatever suits you,” said Debbie Rowley, Community Fundraiser for north and mid Wales.
“Every tea party, big or small, will help to provide vital nursing care for terminally ill people in your area.”
Actress and cake baking queen Jane Asher is supporting the charity’s Blooming Great Tea Party.
She said: “It’s so easy to get involved and every tea party you host or attend, however big or small, will help Marie Curie Nurses provide free care to patients with terminal cancer and other illnesses in the comfort of their own homes or at one of the charity’s hospices.”
