Denbighshire’s cabinet has this week backed a decision that will see its blue bin recycling materials being treated in Flintshire.
The material will be taken to Shotton Paper’s new, state of the art, materials recycling facility on Deeside Industrial Park. The new plant can cope with an increased range of materials and has a very low reject rate.
Lead Cabinet Member for Environment and Sustainable Development, Cllr Sharon Frobisher, said, ” We would like to thank the Welsh Assembly Government for having the foresight to invest £1.7m in this new plant. It will save our council tax payers a lot of money, and will also help us to lower its ecological footprint. A number of high quality green jobs have been created in the process. A win-win situation all round.”
