Blues put unbeaten record on the line

It’s the battle of the top two in the WRU Age Grade Under 18 Championship this evening as the Blues aim top topple top-dogs the Scarlets at Cardiff Arms Park (KO 7.15).

Although they have played two games more than their closest rivals, the Scarlets lead the championship table with 23 points from six games. Furthermore, although the Blues remain as firm favourites to finish on top of the pile, the Scarlets will confirm their place in the final if they reap revenge this evening, for their 18-6 home defeat at the hands of the Blues back in September.

Tries from Callum Thomas and Joseff Griffin were enough to see the Blues home that day with Griffin weighing in with two penalties and a conversion for good measure.

Since then, the unbeaten Welsh region has scord 111 points in three games including a 57-0 victory over Gogledd Cymru. On top of that, they have beaten Sale and Leicester in friendlies and will fancy their chances of holding on to that excellent unbeaten record.

Likewise, the Scarlets have been pretty impressive too this term, especially on their travels. Their 22-6 victory in North Wales was perhaps their most uninspiring, but in beating the Dragons (19-13) at Newbridge and the Ospreys (22-16) at Llandarcy they have further confirmed their credentials as a side capable of lifting the Age Grade crown.
