Borth RNLI lifeboat launched at 1.15 am to search for missing man.

Borth RNLI volunteer lifeboat crew launched in the early hours of Tuesday morning to search for a 22 year old male. HM Coastguard were concerned that the man had gone into the sea at Borth. Meanwhile Borth and Aberystwyth HM Coastguard conducted a search of the beach and village.

The Borth lifeboat crew was paged at 1.05am on Tuesday morning to search for a 22 year old male who was thought to have gone into the sea at Borth.

The Borth inshore lifeboat launched at 1.15am and conducted a shore line search using lights and white parachute flares. The Borth and Aberystwyth HM Coastguard simultaneously conducted a search of the beach and the village.

HM Coastguard requested the RAF search and rescue helicopter to aid the search, but the casualty was found safe and well by the HM Coastguard units before the helicopter arrived.

Upon being informed that the casualty was safe the Borth RNLI volunteer lifeboat crew, Pete Davies (Helm), Amos Bewick and Martyn Davies, stood down and returned to station at 1.45am.

The RNLI volunteer shore crew, Lee Trubshaw (Tractor Driver), Pip Nicholas, Wil Stockford and Simon Hulse, were on hand to recover the boat, refuel it and make it ready for service by 1.55am.
