Welsh Conservatives today announced that Nick Bourne and former AM Lisa Francis will top the Party’s regional list in Mid and West Wales.
Lisa Francis was widely seen as one of the most effective performers of the previous Assembly term, until she lost her seat in the May 2007 election.
Commenting on the announcement, Nick Bourne, Leader of the Welsh Conservatives in the National Assembly, said, “I am delighted that Lisa will be working closely with us in this election campaign.
“Lisa has fought many successful campaigns across Mid and West Wales, especially on the protection of rural health services, which is a critical issue in many communities.
“She has always stood up for vulnerable people in society and I am certain that she will once again be a first-class candidate for our communities.
Lisa Francis said, “I am thrilled to have been selected to represent the Welsh Conservatives at the next Assembly elections.
“I look forward to campaigning with the people of Mid and West Wales to represent their views and defend local health services from the cuts being pursued by the Labour-Plaid Government in Cardiff.
“I have always fought hard for Mid and West Wales, where I have lived and worked all my life. I am passionate about this area and I am committed to developing the future success of the region.”
