Commenting on today’s publication of the Conservative-LibDem programme for government at Westminster, Welsh Conservative Assembly leader Nick Bourne AM said:
“This is a sustainable, forward-looking, progressive programme for government for Wales and the United Kingdom for a full Parliament.
“It opens an exciting new chapter in British politics and the leaders of both parties are to be congratulated for taking it forward.
“In terms of specific Welsh points in the document published today, I very much welcome the recognition of concerns raised by the Holtham Commission and, subject to a referendum yes vote, to take forward a Calman-style commission on funding for Wales.
“I also welcome the document’s commitment to rail electrification and high speed rail.”
