Welsh Conservatives have welcomed the Prime Minister’s plans to make more government data accessible to the public.
Commenting on the announcement, Leader of the Opposition Nick Bourne AM said:
“I am pleased that David Cameron has made this important move towards ensuring that there is greater transparency in government and public services.
“We all know that we face challenging times ahead and spending in these areas services must be restrained and effectively prioritised.
“We must be honest and open with the public about the way their taxes are being spent, as well providing more information about the performance of these sectors.
“Increasing the information available will allow the public to more closely scrutinise the government and public service providers.
“I would urge the First Minister to follow the Prime Minister’s example and commit to making more government data available in Wales.”
