Welsh Conservatives have raised further concerns over the Assembly Government’s commitment to business relations.
Commenting on the matter, Leader of the Opposition Nick Bourne AM said:
“We are yet to see meaningful progress from the Assembly Government on the new model for their relations with the business sector in Wales.
“We also expected to learn how the Assembly Government intended to combine and take forward the best of the Business Partnership Council and economic summits before the summer recess.
“The First Minister assured me in the Chamber as recently as the 22nd June that he was ‘looking to make an announcement’ before the Assembly went into the recess period.
“However, we have seen more of the complacent attitude that has become a characteristic of the First Minister and we are yet to see this announcement materialise.
“Welsh Conservatives have called for a re-invigorated Business Partnership Council that should agree the long term strategic objectives needed to improve the Welsh economy.
“If the First Minister and his colleagues in the Assembly Government really are committed to revitalising Wales’ economy, they must recognise the urgency with which this model must be confirmed and implemented.
“The First Minister must stop dithering and start delivering.”
