Brecon is extending its festival weekend with Charity events on Monday 15th and Tuesday 16th August in aid of The George Melly Sculpture Appeal and Oxjam Brecon respectively.
Organisers are urging vistors to stay on for Melly Monday and Oxjam Tuesday and spend time exploring the Artbeat galleries and independent shops in the town.
Those that do can enjoy more free music and a unique Gypsy Jazz All Stars concert at The George Hotel on Monday at 2pm featuring award winning violoinist Sarah Smith and rising star local gypsy jazz guitarist Remi Harris.
Events continue with Oxjam Comedy and Quiz event on Tuesday – one of a series of fundraisers in the run up to “Oxjam Brecon Takeover” on Saturday 15th October for which tickets are already on sale.
Elizabeth Jeffreys, Chair of The George Melly Sculpture Appeal said : “Brecon has so much to offer and we thought that staging post festival events such as Melly Monday will encourage people to stay on and really discover the town more fully”
