A bridge which forms part of a major development of a new cycle route in north Denbighshire will be lifted into place this coming weekend (overnight on November 7 and 8).
Currently motorists, pedestrians and cyclists use a bridge over the main railway at Ceg y Ffordd. The new bridge will be located adjacent to the road bridge and will be used by cyclists and pedestrians, to improve safety at the location.
The project forms part of a cycle route that will eventually extend all the way from the A548 to Meliden. It will also improve a key section of a Safe Route to School by providing a safe alternative to the existing footpaths on the road bridge. The road will also be closed overnight.
The work of installing the new bridge is being carried out overnight for safety reasons and to avoid any disruption to train services using the main railway line.
The work, which forms part of the £2 million River Clwyd Coastal Package, is being carried out by Mulcair Limited.
