Jai McDowall will headline at Rhyl’s Annual Christmas Pops at St Thomas’s Church, Rhyl ahead of his appearance in front of Her Majesty at this year’s Royal Variety Performance in Salford the following evening.
County Events Manager Sian Davies said “I’m absolutely thrilled to be able to make this announcement, what an accolade for the town to welcome Jai to Rhyl ahead of his appearance at the Royal Variety Performance”.
Jai was crowned champion of this year’s Britain’s Got Talent following a string of stunning performances. The Scotsman described the moment as “absolutely amazing” having taking the crown in front of 12.5 million viewers.
Some of the acts joining Jai will be singing sensation Lucy Kelly. Lucy is a talented 14 year old schoolgirl from Anglesey who is destined to follow in the footsteps of Charlotte Church and Katherine Jenkins as a musical ambassador for Wales, also appearing will be ‘Kimmo’ a magical ventriloquist, his act has taken him across the world and he has performed at some of the most prestigious venues, such as the world famous Magic Castle in Hollywood. Young female vocalist Lyndsey Kearns, Ysgol Emmanuel Choir and the host for the evening will be Matty Roberts.
The event, organised by Denbighshire Leisure Services and supported by Rhyl Town Council, will be held at St Thomas’s Church, Rhyl on Sunday 4th December, 2011.
