The top two teams in Pool A of the British & Irish Cup clash head on at Doonybrook. Leinster have a 100% winning record in the British & Irish Cup with three wins out of three, despite scoring just four tries and conceding four tries. The Irishmen have beaten Plymouth and Exeter away from home and Cornish Pirates at Donnybrook so far.
Newport lie in forth spot in the WRU Principality Premiership. Newport’s five game winning run in all competitions ended when they were knocked out of the Swalec Cup at home to Cardiff on Saturday.

Neath v Munster

Neath are setting the pace in the WRU Principality Premiership and have won six of their last seven games in all competitions. The Welshmen lost their opening two matches in the British & Irish Cup, to Bristol and Nottingham but travelled to Heriot’s in round three to win 38-21. Munster have a 100% winning record in the British & Irish Cup having already accounted for the three English sides in this pool: Coventry (20-13), Bristol (18-6) and Nottingham (18-3).

The top two sides in Pool C meet head on at Ravenhill. Ulster Ravens continue to push the leaders all the way in Pool C of the British & Irish Cup. The Ulstermen won their opening two encounters with Bedford Blues and Moseley and drew 21-all at Llanelli in round three. London Welsh, who lie in third spot in the RFU Championship are the only side left in the British & Irish Cup with maximum points from three successive bonus point victories over Moseley,
Aberavon and Bedford.

Bedford Blues lie in fourth place in the RFU Championship, but have slipped to back to back defeats to London Welsh in the British & Irish Cup and Doncaster in the Championship. The Blues’ other results in the British & Irish Cup were a 3-29 defeat in Ulster and a 36-24 win at home to Llanelli. Aberavon are currently in seventh position in the WRU Principality Premiership. The Wizards beat fellow Premiership side Llanelli in round one and lost 7-36 at home to London Welsh in round two of the British & Irish Cup, whilst their round three encounter with Moseley was postponed due to inclement weather and has been rearranged for Tuesday evening. The two teams have never met before in league or cup.

Llanelli sit in sixth place in the WRU Principality Premiership league table although they have a game on Tuesday evening at home to Bedwas. Llanelli are unbeaten in their last five games in all competitions. In the British & Irish Cup the West Walians were defeated in their opening two fixtures against Aberavon and Bedford but drew 21-all with Ulster in round three. Moseley currently lie just outside of the top 8 in the RFU Championship but still have a chance
of making the playoffs. Moseley lost their opening two games in the British & Irish Cup to London Welsh and Ulster and are playing their rearranged game in Aberavon on Tuesday evening. The two teams have never met before in league or cup.

Ayr v Pontypridd

Ayr are in second place in the SRU Scottish Hydro Premiership One table, just five points behind leaders Currie but with a game in hand. Ayr have won their last six matches in all competitions since their 7-32 defeat at Doncaster in round one of the British & Irish Cup. Their subsequent two wins in the competition being at home to Rotherham and Birmingham. Pontypridd are in third place in the WRU Principality Premiership, Ponty have lost both of their previous encounters in the British & Irish Cup: 16-22 at Cardiff and 23-33 at Rotherham Titans. The two teams have never met before in league or cup.

Cardiff are in fifth place in the WRU Principality Premiership and are very much in touch in the British & Irish Cup just one point behind the leaders, having won their opening two games against Pontypridd and Birmingham but slipping up at Doncaster in round three. Rotherham Titans lie in tenth place in the RFU Championship and still have a chance of making the Top eight and a playoff spot. The Titans have won their last three games in all competitions and in the British & Irish Cup have a won two (Birmingham & Solihull Bees and Pontypridd), lost one (Ayr) record.
