Burglary at Llanberis Community Centre: Appeal

An appeal for information is being made following a burglary at the Llanberis Community Centre last week.

Sometime between 5pm and 9pm on Sunday, November 7th, a burglary occurred at the community centre which is situated next door to Electric Mountain.

The offender(s) gained entry by smashing a window. A small amount of cash, a Wii games console and four Wii games were stolen from within the centre.

A spokesperson on behalf of the Ganolfan’s committee said: “What is most disappointing is that those responsible deliberately targeted property belonging to the Llanberis Youth Club.

“Games and equipment in excess of £500 were stolen and padlocks had been carefully unscrewed by the thieves. This was a disgraceful act of vandalism and theft targeted at property that belongs to the residents of both Llanberis and Nant Peris.”

Local Community Beat Manager, PC Bryn Pritchard said: “We are appealing to anybody who may have information regarding the burglary, or to anybody who has any knowledge with regards to the whereabouts of the stolen Wii console and games to contact us.

“The stolen items belonged to the local youth club and this incident has left the youngsters who attend the club very upset. We would urge anyone who may know who was responsible for this burglary to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”

Anybody with information, or anybody who may have witnessed suspicious behaviour in the area is asked to contact North Wales Police on 101 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers Wales anonymously on 0800 555 111.
