Police are warning anyone who handles tools stolen from a house which is under renovation could be at risk of potential contamination from asbestos.
South Wales Police is investigating the break-in at the property in Swansea Road, Merthyr Tydfil, which happened sometime between 5.30pm yesterday and 10.30am today (Tuesday, March 4).
The stolen items are as follows:
- CCTV System
- MAKITA Reciprocating power saw
- Transformers, battery and charger
- Asbestos mask
- Hammers and other sundry tools.
Anyone who handlers these items would come into contact with the hazardous substance.
Officers have urged the burglars or anyone who has handled the tools to let them know where they are so they can be dealt with properly.
They are also advising them to seek medical advice if they have been exposed to the material.
