Commenting on proposals by the Welsh Government to publish bandings of secondary schools by December 2011, Angela Burns AM, Shadow Minister for Education, said:
“These bandings will make more information available to parents about the performance of their child’s school.
“The Minister’s conversion to publishing transparent data about standards in Welsh schools is welcome and will help parents make an informed choice about what is best for their child.
“Accessible information is a tool of empowerment for parents but will need to be part of a much wider package of reforms to turn around a decade of decline and drive up standards in our schools.”
