Commenting on the decision by the Welsh Labour Government to stop producing figures comparing per pupil funding between Wales and England, Angela Burns AM, Shadow Minister for Education, said:
“This decision to cover up data on the underfunding of Welsh schools flies in the face of transparency.
“Even without the latest figures, we know the funding gap between Welsh and English schools has been widening and most recently stood at over £600 per pupil.
“With well-documented failings in school standards in Wales, parents should be entitled to see the extent to which Labour is underfunding our schools.
“In the interests of openness and accountability, the Education Minister must revisit this decision.”
