Commenting on news that three communities in Wales are to receive funding to install new green technologies, Shadow Environment Minister Angela Burns AM said:
“I very much welcome this announcement which will help these communities develop low carbon energy schemes and reduce their energy bills.
“Welsh Conservatives support this kind of initiative which allows local communities to play a role in tackling global climate change.
“Greener energy is good for individuals, for communities, and for the planet. It saves money, it saves energy and it saves the environment.
“While I am pleased these communities have secured this funding, the Assembly Government has been very poor at investing in community renewable energy infrastructure and supporting research and development into wave, tidal and other new green technologies.”
