Commenting on the resignation of the University of Wales Council Chairman, Shadow Minister for Education Angela Burns AM (pictured), said:
“I welcome this announcement, which follows weeks of Welsh Conservative requests for those responsible to take responsibility for what has happened to this institution.
“It is now crucial that lessons are learned and that Welsh Higher Education regains its credibility.
“We here must move forward in a stronger position and the Welsh Labour Government needs to make sure the next steps are appropriate and suitable.
“It remains a crushing blow that such a well-respected institution has been brought to its knees by the actions of a minority.”
