Liverpool coastguard requested the assistance of the Flint RNLI lifeboat to investigate a call from a member of the public reporting a sighting of a fishing vessel adrift off Greenfield.
The volunteer lifeboat crew were paged at 9.20am and launched at Greenfield at 9.35am.
The fishing vessel was quickly located, an RNLI crew member was put aboard, and a tow line passed.
There were no people on board and the fishing vessel was then taken in tow by the lifeboat and placed back on its moorings at Greenfield.
The lifeboat was recovered and returned to Flint lifeboat station at 10.30am.
Chris Barnes, RNLI volunteer Deputy Launching Authority, said: “It turned out to be a straightforward successful service and we were grateful to the Flint coastguard team for the assistance at Greenfield.”
Chris continued: “If anybody reading this report is interested in becoming a volunteer crew member please contact Alan Forrester on 07785593247.”
