Labour’s Jeff Cuthbert has welcomed the Labour-led Welsh Assembly Government announcement of an extra £10m of funding to relieve pressures on children’s social services and maintain community facilities, such as sports centres and family centres.
Caerphilly County Borough Council will receive £393,974 of revenue funding and £255,217 of capital funding to help them maintain their spending programmes for the next financial year. By using this money to fund spending programmes that are already in progress, they can then free up resources for future year spends. The additional money will be funded from underspend on other programmes and will be allocated to individual local authorities in line with the appropriate RSG formula.
Caerphilly Candidate Jeff Cuthbert said:
“These are very important services. I hope that this additional money, and at very difficult financial times, from the Labour led Assembly will be well used by the Borough Council.”
