Council tenants across Caerphilly are being invited to an information day to have the opportunity to ask any questions they may have about the Council’s proposal to transfer its homes to a new Community Housing Mutual, Castell Mynydd.
Tenants will also be able to hear from tenants from other areas about their experiences of the transfer process.
The information day forms part of the Council’s informal consultation with its tenants on a proposal to transfer its homes to a new, independent not-for-profit Community Housing Mutual housing organisation set up by the Council, called Castell Mynydd. Transfer can only go ahead if the majority of tenants who vote, vote in favour of the proposal in a ballot later this year.
Council staff, the Independent Tenant Adviser PS Consultants and members of the Caerphilly Tenants’ Panel will be available to answer any questions.
There will also be a series of workshops including tenants’ experience of WHQS improvements; information about Castell Mynydd and what happens if homes stay with the Council, and opportunities for tenant involvement.
The event is being held at the Oasis Life Centre, Bryn Road, Cefn Fforest, Blackwood NP12 3LJ from 10.am to 2.30pm on Thursday, October 13th.
Refreshments and a light lunch will be provided and transport is available if required.
Tenants are asked to call the Council’s Freephone on 0800 141 2834 to let the Council know they are attending and so transport can be arranged where necessary.
