The 23 year old man, who was arrested following the death of 26 year old Jake Mark Sweeney from Caerphilly after an incident outside the Irish Tymes pub on Station Terrace, has been charged with manslaughter.
The man, from Caerphilly, has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Cardiff Crown Court on Monday 8th September.
Two further men, both aged 21 from Caerphilly, were arrested on suspicion of affray and have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
The 23 year old first appeared at Cardiff Magistrates on Sunday 31st August.
