The River of Light lantern parade this evening will take place via a revised route, due to the weather conditions that they are currently being faced with.
The meeting point will be in front of Morrison’s Supermarket in Castle Court Shopping Centre, Caerphilly. The parade will leave at 6.30pm, parading through Castle Court Shopping Centre, along Cardiff Road to the Twyn Car Park, adjacent to Caerphilly Visitor Centre where the public will be able to view a fireworks display from the eastern side of Caerphilly Castle.
The Twyn Car Park will have restricted access during the event, but there should be sufficient car parking space available for visitors participating or viewing the parade at Morrison’s Car Park.
The organisers said:
“Please can all paraders and spectators be vigilant and take appropriate precautions under the current weather conditions whilst travelling to and from the event. It is advised that the public wear appropriate footwear and extra layers to keep warm during what is expected to be a festive yet cold event”.
