Caerphilly Working Women Network will be spending an evening ‘Down on the Farm’ on Thursday 7th August.

The group, run by the Caerphilly Rural Development Plan and Caerphilly Business Forum, will be enjoying a rare outing to appreciate the innovative work of another, famous working woman, BBC’s Kate Humble.

‘Humble by Nature’ is a working farm owned by the broadcaster and her husband Ludo and based just outside Monmouthshire. The farm runs a wide range of courses from animal husbandry, rural crafts and skills, charcuterie, foraging and bread making from a series of special barns at the heart of the farm and host regular Supper Club events.

The group, which meet every 6 to 8 weeks, are looking forward to an evening which will include a series of talks and a tour of this developing centre which includes the recently launched Aquaponics Solar Greenhouse, the first of its kind in the UK.

Denise Lovering, Chair of Caerphilly Business Forum said: “We welcome both members and non-members to attend the event and meet with other like-minded women and not only enjoy an interesting evening but also share ideas and best practise on a range of topics and issues of relevance including work/life balance, business and personal development.”

Cllr. Ken James, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Planning and Sustainable Development said: “This is another innovative event organised by what is an exciting partnership between Caerphilly’s Rural Development Plan and Caerphilly Business Forum. The Working Women network continues to offer a fantastic opportunity for people in different sectors to work together and share knowledge.”
