Market towns across Denbighshire are being urged to submit nominations for a prestigious industry award.
Action for Market Towns has arranged its 2012 awards with industry gongs up for grabs in six regions – one being the Welsh region.
There are four categories in this year’s competition – environment and culture; social and community; business and economy and partnership and strategic working.
The category winners from each of the six regions will compete against each other for the national Highly Transferable Project Award. The overall winners from each region will also compete for the honour of being crowned Action for Market Towns National Awards winner.
Only last year there was celebration in Denbighshire after the Scala Cinema and Arts Centre, Prestatyn was crowned winner in the Social and Community award.
Michelle Rendell, Denbighshire County Council’s Business Growth Officer, said: “This is a great opportunity to celebrate all that’s unique about our market towns. They have so much to offer and it’s important that we get them firmly on the map.
“I would encourage groups across the county that could be eligible to get nominating. Winner of even entering an award demonstrates clearly a confidence in the local community and shows that you’re ready to do business.
“We would be delighted if another award came to a Denbighshire town for a second year running.”
The deadline for entries is March 23. For further information or to download an application form, please visit: www.towns.org.uk
