Mesmac North Wales has announce that the very first “North Wales Mardi Gras” will be held in Anglesey in April 2011. This is an event that the North Wales gay community has been waiting for.
Mona Showground will be the place to be from midday Friday April 15th and up to 3am on the morning of Sunday April 17th. During this time the music and Bar will be non stop within two areas of the showground, one will be for 20th century music and the other for 21st century. Apart from various DJ’s there will also be live bands, these will announce nearer the time. Beer and food will be available at a capped price of £3.
Music will not be the only entertainment, apart from stalls and a funfair, there will be performances by jugglers, stilt walkers and the like. If you are a member of a group who do street performances and would like to offer your services freely then please do contact them (see link below) .For those who may wish to bring children, maybe on the Saturday, the funfair will have suitable entertainment.
Some of you may have the stamina to keep going throughout the whole time period, however, for those of you, who do not have that kind of energy there is a campsite with toilet facilities etc, this will be free of charge. Parking is also free. Another facility will be that of a disabled area for people with ill health, disability or seniors, a nice quiet space to relax in.
With a ticket price of £35 for the weekend you will be getting very good value for money, then again you could buy the early Bird tickets for just £20 and get an even better bargain.
Mesmac does not receive any funding and would welcome any donations or sponsorship that is made. They would also like to have an Arts and Crafts area hence the need for sponsorship.
There are pitches available for letting out to any LGBT groups/charities who wish to have a stall, at a small price, details upon request or via Mesmac website.
