A Cardiff brewer has launched a petition in favour of his application to sell his beer direct to the public.
Simon Doherty of the Cardiff-based Artisan Brewing Company, one of the smallest brewers in the country, says he needs the extra income from retail sales to keep afloat. But his application for a license to sell direct from his Canton Bewery has not been passed, despite the backing off the police and fire authorities.
Neighbours objecting to the application are concerned about noise, but Mr Doherty says these concerns relate to recent minifestivals he has held under a temporary events notice and much of his retail business would be done on-line.
He has launched a Facebook group to gather support for his application.
