Cardiff city centre assault

South Wales Police investigating an assault in Cardiff city centre are appealing for information.

Detectives are keen to speak to the man in the CCTV image who was in the Charles Street area of the city at the time of the incident.

A 36-year-old man was assaulted in nearby Wesley Lane in the early hours on Saturday, December 11 leaving him with cuts and bruises.

The suspect is described as white, around 25 years old, 5ft 7in tall, athletic build with quite broad shoulders. He has medium length brown hair that seemed to be gelled on the sides.

Detective Constable Richard Shanahan, from Cardiff Bay CID, said: “Since the incident was reported to us we have been carrying out many enquiries including checking CCTV.

“We are now in a position to release an image of a man we would like to speak to. Anyone who recognises him, or the man himself, is urged to contact us as soon as possible.”
