The Cardiff Community Alarm team is celebrating after being singled out for Accreditation by the Security Systems and Alarms Inspection Board [SSAIB].
SSAIB is a leading Certification body which recognises high standards within organisations that provide electronic security, fire systems and guarding security services in the UK.
Last week the Cardiff Community Alarm Service scheme achieved full compliance to the SSAIB Standard, and is the first organisation to win the British and European Standard in the UK.
The Cardiff Community Alarm Service is available to all citizens and communities in Cardiff, offering monitoring and help for older people and people with disabilities, to live safely and independently. The service is additionally available to repeat victims of crime including doorstep crime, domestic violence and racial abuse, and can provide lone worker solutions. The service also offers assistance to those who have been discharged from hospital, enabling them to leave with added security.
Executive Member for Communities, Housing and Social Justice, Councillor Judith Woodman, said: “It is fantastic to hear the community Alarm Service has received recognition form SSAIB, who are a leading certification body. The Community Alarm provides a very important service to the vulnerable in the community. I am delighted the team have received recognition for all the hard work that they do.”
