The Cardiff Devils Ice Hockey team has signed up as a sponsor of Active Cardiff, the Council’s leisure membership scheme which will be endorsed by one of the team’s key players, Chris Blight.
Active Cardiff will gain from the initiative by reaching an increased audience via access to promotional opportunities at the ice arena, home to the Devil’s, as well as advertising on their website.
The contra sponsorship agreement will mean that Cardiff Devils match tickets will now be on sale at four of the cities leisure facilities including Llanishen Leisure Centre, Pentwyn Leisure Centre, Fairwater Leisure Centre and Cardiff International Sports Stadium.
Cabinet Member for Sport, Leisure and Culture, Cllr Ramesh Patel said: “We are all aware of the significant budget cuts that local authorities are facing and it is therefore vital the Council explores various methods in order to ensure services such as leisure and sport can continue to be available to the public.
“Active Cardiff have formed an excellent relationship with the Cardiff Devils and I am delighted at the latest development which I am sure will benefit both parties.”
