Cardiff Council last year put an ad in Horse and Hound and hired Lucy Hamblett to act as their horse warden – the first in Wales.
The post has proved such a success that Lucy’s advice is now being sought by councils across the UK.
Executive Member for Housing and Neighbourhood Renewal, Councillor Judith Woodman, said: “Wild or stray horses can be a danger to Cardiff residents so to have a dedicated person tackling the issue is fantastic. It’s obvious that Lucy cares a great deal about the horses and having her patrolling Cardiff means the animals welfare is a priority.”
Anyone concerned about wild/stray horses in Cardiff should call the 101 service.
