A body found yesterday (Friday, October 7) in Cardiff has been identified as missing man John Alfred Martin.
His family have been informed.
Mr Martin, aged 71, left his home in Llanrumney on Friday, September 30 2011 at around 2.30pm with his dog Ben and was later seen on CCTV on Newport Road and Lamby Way.
Ben was found but the search for Mr Martin continued.
Mr Martin’s body was found this morning in an artificial drain, known locally as the reens, near the coast road between Wentloog and Peterstone.
There are no suspicious circumstances.
Members of the public who have provided information during the search and the press are thanked for their assistance.
