Cardiff Road Collision: Tributes to young woman

A young woman who died following a road collision on the A4232 has been named as Emma Jayne Allman, from Penylan, Cardiff.

Emma, 19, was driving a black ‘08’ Mini on the northbound carriageway at the Culverhouse Cross interchange when it left the road and collided with a bridge parapet at approximately 9.40pm on Wednesday 6th July 2011.

Emma’s parents have released the following statements:

From her mother:

Emma Jayne was studying at Caerleon University, having completed her first year of study this year and was looking forward to fulfil her lifelong ambition to become a primary school teacher.
Emma had a bubbly, fun loving personality and was adored by all who knew her.  She was a former pupil of Howells Girl School.
This is a tragic loss and Emma will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.

From her father:

My beautiful daughter was all to me. I will sadly miss her laughter and smile. My heart will never mend.  Her spirit will be with me always. My love for her will continue until one day I will be with her.
Emma was loved by her friends and I hope that she as found peace. When she took her first step I caught her. We loved each other always.

Two male passengers were treated at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, for injuries.

South Wales Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or the vehicle prior to the collision, and who have not as yet provided their details, to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 01656 869332.
