On Sunday afternoon, the volunteer lifeboat crews of Cardigan RNLI lifeboats were paged and requested to launch as there were reports of a man who was trapped in a small cove by Mwnt.
The Atlantic lifeboat was quickly launched and was on scene within minutes, a crew member swam in to the casualty to assess the situation. Shortly afterwards the D Class arrived and manouvered into the cove where the cold and worried casualty was sat.
As the casualty had an injured knee, it was decided that he should be helped aboard the RNLI lifeboat, made comfortable and moved to Mwnt Beach where Coastguards and Paramedics were waiting to take over.
Both lifeboats were then able to return to station.
