Cardigan volunteer lifeboat crew launched the inshore lifeboat on Saturday afternoon after receiving reports of a capsized dingy. As the volunteer crew arrived at the scene, the dingy turned out to be a small sailing vessel with one person onboard.
Once on scene, the helm of the lifeboat decided that the volunteer crew would secure the dingy and the lifeboat would returned the cold, wet, and shaken casualty to the pontoon in patch. On assessing the conditions (strong winds and outgoing tide) the D-class lifeboat was launched to help with the bilge pump and towing the casualty vessel up the river to St Dogmaels.
The casualty returned to the station with the volunteer lifeboat crew and after a hot shower and a cup of tea the casualty was fine.
