Lampeter student Carlington Mazhawidza was selected to play rugby for the Carmarthenshire District rugby team in the Llanelli District Rugby Union Inter-Area Challenge Shield Final on 20 April 2010. Carmarthenshire won the final in a fiercely contested game against Gwendraeth.
Carlington who is currently in his first year of a Masters in Media Production also plays for the university rugby team. He enjoyed playing this season and one of his highlights was Lampeter winning against Aberystwyth University at the beginning of the year. Carlington also plays for Lampeter Town RFC, the local club which played a big part in his selection to play at district level. Carlington is currently encouraging people to join the University men’s rugby team.
