The countdown is on to this year’s Bargoed Carnival, which promises to be another fun filled day out for all the family.
This year’s Bargoed Carnival will take place on Saturday 12th June at Heolddu Playing Fields, Bargoed between 12pm and 7pm.
This fantastic summer event will feature a live music stage with music from local bands, a funfair, dance demonstrations, children’s activities, food, a licensed bar and much more.
Marquees will also house craft, food and charity stalls, and this year will also feature a new children’s marquee with Punch and Judy shows, a magician, ceramic workshops and face painting.
A performance from Bargoed Male Voice Choir will open the event.
A fun-filled fancy dress parade will also take place on the day, with various prizes available for the best fancy dress costumes.
Mr and Miss Greater Bargoed, Zac Hamer Thomas and Shona Smith will lead the parade, which will begin at Bargoed Community Centre at 11.30am and finish at Heolddu Playing Fields just in time for the start of the Carnival at 12pm.
Mr Greater Bargoed, Zac Hamer Thomas is from the Bargoed area and is interested in rugby and rock climbing. He has recently also achieved a Junior Sports Leadership Award (JSLA) and an NVQ in sport and recreation.
Miss Greater Bargoed, Shona Smith is also from the Bargoed area and works in the local community. She is interested in rugby, music and drama, and has won numerous awards.
