Welsh Labour’s new Leader, Carwyn Jones, will be Leader for the whole of Wales – that’s according to Wrexham’s AM, Lesley Griffiths.
Ms. Griffiths was commenting following the comprehensive victory by Mr. Jones, in the recent contest to elect a new Party Leader to replace Rhodri Morgan.
Commenting on Carwyn Jones’ success, Lesley Griffiths AM said:
“Carwyn’s election as Welsh Labour Leader will be good news for North Wales. Throughout the recent election, I was impressed by how he understood the needs of the region as well as the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
“He also understands there exists a perception amongst some people that Wales is somehow divided, when it comes to investment and services. The reality of course is very different. However, Carwyn is committed to ending that perception by being a Leader for the whole of Wales.
“Following Carwyn’s election the Labour Party has a new found confidence within its ranks – a confidence that gives us a great springboard for the General Election in 2010 and the Assembly Elections in 2011. Under Carwyn’s Leadership, I believe, the fightback has begun.”
