Glynneath library is to undergo a major interior refurbishment thanks to a £116,000 grant from the Welsh Assembly Government.
The grant, administered by Cymal (Museums Archives and Libraries Wales) will mean a modern pleasant learning environment can be created at the library.
Plans are being unveiled to create a modern facility that will meet the needs of residents. There will be a redesign of the layout of the interior. The library will be redecorated with new lighting being installed and shelving and fixtures will be replaced.
Disabled access is a priority and will encourage residents of all ages and abilities to make more use of the wider range of services that a modern library now offers.
Council Leader, Ali Thomas, said, “This is excellent news and I’m delighted we have been successful in securing this grant.
“The library will become a modern facility providing educational and cultural services that the public have come to expect from our library service in a comfortable and attractive environment.”
