North Wales Police have arrested a man and recovered three vehicles suspected to be associated with an armed robbery at Cefn Mawr Post Office (near Wrexham) today.
Extensive police enquiries are on going to find two other people believed to have been involved in the incident in which an employee at the Post Office was slightly injured and cash taken.
The three masked men entered the Post Office at about 9.34 am today. Initial information suggests that an employee was threatened before the offenders left the premises and made off by car.
Superintendent Neill Anderson, said: “Thankfully the Post Office employee was not seriously injured. Safety of Post Office employees and members of the public is paramount and we are working with Post Office Securities to reassure people that everything possible is being done to protect them.
“We are very grateful to the people who have come forward throughout the day to give vital information in relation to this incident and I would appeal to anyone who may have seen anything to contact us.
“Incidents such as this are very rare and North Wales Police are trained and equipped to deal with them. A major enquiry has been launched and we will not leave any stone unturned in finding those responsible for this crime.”
