As part of World Book Day celebrations this year, Gwynedd Council’s Library Service is launching it’s ‘Family Voucher’ campaign as a way of encouraging more people to use Pwllheli Library and to remind people that the library now has new opening times. The library is now open through lunch time and all day Saturday between 10am – 5pm.
In partnership with South Pwllheli Communities First, a specific amount of vouchers will be distributed to local families who attend projects organised by Communities First.
The only thing that the families need to do before exchanging their voucher is to use Pwllheli Library in any way, for example; borrow a book, use a computer or take part in story time. By using the library they can exchange their voucher for a pack of two Welsh books – and keep these books as presents.
Ffion Mair Gruffydd Williams, South Pwllheli Communities First Co-ordinator said:
“It’s a pleasure to work in partnership with the library service to help families in the Pwllheli area. We as South Pwllheli Communities First have been supporting families with young children since the start of the project nearly ten years ago, familiarising and bettering our knowledge of family needs through services and opportunities.
“The library service is extremely important to the whole community. It provides pleasure, is educative and more importantly – it is free!”
As part of the campaign to promote Pwllheli Library new opening times, activities for children also take place on Saturday afternoons, and computer skill sessions for adults on Friday mornings at 10am. For further details contact Pwllheli Library on 01758 612089 or e-mail [email protected]
