Flintshire’s most talented young musicians will be presenting their annual “Celebration of Youth Music” concerts at the beginning of May.
The instrumentalists and singers are part of the Flintshire County Music School, which is attended on a weekly basis by over 600 pupils from almost all schools across the County.
The concerts take place at Deeside Leisure Centre, Queensferry on Thursday 3 May and Friday 4 May, and will start at 7pm.
They will feature a total of 15 ensembles over the two evenings and all are directed by specialist conductors and tutors from the Flintshire County Music Service. Choirs, String Orchestras, Wind Bands, Jazz Orchestra and Harp ensembles are all taking part.
Thursday’s performance will feature the Senior and Intermediate Choirs, String Orchestras, Windbands and Harp Ensemble. On Friday, the Senior ensembles will perform once again and will be joined by the Junior Choir, String Orchestra and Training Windband, Senior Harp Ensemble and Jazz Orchestra, to present a feast of music spanning a number of centuries and in many genres.
Tickets are available at County Music School rehearsals or from Emma Iball, Flintshire Music Services, 01352 704170 – £6 for adults and £4 for concessions.
