Ceredigion County Council seeks two new independent members to serve on its Standards Committee

The Standards Committee’s general functions are to promote and maintain high standards of conduct among Councillors and to assist Councillors in observing the Code of Conduct.

The Standards Committee exercises these functions in respect of the County Council and Town and Community Councils in Ceredigion. The Committee has nine members in total (five independent members, two County Councillors and two Community Councillors).

Standards Committee meetings generally take place once a month although meetings can sometimes be convened more frequently if urgent matters arise.

The Panel will be looking for applicants with a high level of personal integrity and a commitment to promoting and upholding high standards. The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate independence and impartiality in addressing the Committee’s work and will not have any personal or professional connection with the Council.
