Ceredigion RNLI lifeguards help injured 5-year-old

Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) lifeguards at Aberystwyth North beach in Ceredigion came to the assistance of a five-year-old girl who had injured her head after falling off the promenade on Saturday, 17 July.

The young girl – who was from Carmarthenshire and visiting the area with her parents – was walking along the promenade at just after 2pm on Saturday, when she slipped and fell awkwardly, hitting her head on the concrete ramp not far from the RNLI lifeguard unit at Aberystwyth North beach.

RNLI lifeguards Caleb Spencer and Tom Main, who were on duty on the beach at the time, went to her assistance and called for an ambulance, which evacuated the young casualty to Bronglais Hospital, Aberystwyth, where she received stitches for her head injuries.
