Mr Bernard John Bloom, John Nathan Bloom and Wayne John Bloom appeared before Cardiff Magistrates Court on 13th March charged with a number of offences relating to illegal money lending.
Due to the seriousness of the allegations the Court decided that the matter should be sent to the Cardiff Crown Court for trial with a preliminary hearing scheduled for March 31st.
The case relates to Mr Bernard John Bloom, aged 77 charged with illegal money lending and illegal money lending as a director between September 2006 and November 2013 under the Consumer Credit Act 1974.
Further charges are against Mr John Nathan Bloom, aged 50 and Mr Wayne John Bloom, aged 56 for the same offences during this time frame – illegal money lending and illegal money lending as a director as well as additional charges for fraud and money laundering.
In this complex case, the charges relate to over 400 people that are believed to be victims of this criminal activity.
