Generous staff at leading independent chartered accountants and business advisers, Watts Gregory LLP have been piling up the pounds for good causes.
Sponsored runs, dress down days, photographic competitions together with coffee mornings are among the events organised by employees at the Cardiff based practice to raise money for charities. Staff also donate to the chosen good causes through payroll in the form of Give As You Earn [GAYE].
Since 2008 the 40 partners and employees at Watts Gregory have raised more than £6,000 for the Kidney Wales Foundation, cancer support charities Macmillan and Tenovus. This year Bobath Cymru, the children’s therapy centre in Cardiff, is the good cause to benefit.
Julia Mortimer, an Associate with Watts Gregory, said: “Everyone pitches into fundraising for good causes very enthusiastically. Bobath was chosen as this year’s charity following a vote among staff. The son of one of our staff had treatment there some years ago, so it’s a charity very close to her heart and they do wonderful work.”
Lindsay Hogg, Managing Partner at Watts Gregory, which is based at the Cardiff Gate Business Park, said: “We’re delighted at the fundraising efforts our staff make to help charities, particularly in these difficult economic times when money is tighter for everyone. Our staff are always looking for innovative ways to raise money and everyone plays their part.”
